Navigating the world of personal and professional support can be scary–you don’t know who or what to invest in, maybe you’ve never invested in your professional growth beyond college.

You might wonder whether you need an executive mindset coach, a business consultant, or a spiritual coach, or a therapist! Each of these professional service providers offer a unique purpose and can provide different benefits depending on your needs.

Let’s take a look at each of them.

As an Executive Mindset Coach, I partner with my clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. This process often unlocks previously untapped sources of creativity, imagination, productivity, and leadership. Unlike therapy, which often focuses on past issues, coaching is future-focused, aiming to unlock your potential and guide you toward achieving your aspirations.

Business Consultants bring their expertise and experience to solve specific problems in your business. They provide practical advice, tools, and strategies based on what has worked for them or their clients. Consultants are great when you need a structured plan and actionable steps to grow your business or navigate a challenging phase. I act as a consultant when I’m hired to help build a brand.

Spiritual Coaches or advisors focus on your inner self and spiritual well-being. They help you connect with your deeper purpose, find inner peace, and navigate life’s transitions with a sense of clarity and fulfillment. Spiritual coaching can involve various practices, including meditation, energy healing, and mindfulness.

In my journey, I have worked with all three types of support, and each has brought unique value to my life and career.

My Real-Life Success Stories

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with some incredible coaches and consultants who have profoundly impacted my personal and professional growth.

Business Consultants: The first business consultant I ever hired was Sean Lowe in 2009. Referred by my friend Heidi, Sean was known for transforming businesses. Each session cost $750, which was a huge investment for me at the time, but I saw the difference it made for Heidi and knew it was what I needed to uplevel my business. At the time, I had just been laid off from Paper Source, where I was the senior design manager. I had started my own business but was struggling with having too many clients and not enough income. Sean helped me restructure my services and raise my prices, allowing me to reduce my client load while increasing my revenue. This shift saved me time and boosted my confidence.

Another pivotal moment was when I worked with Cultivate Advisors. This group offered a tailored one-on-one approach while providing access to a vast community and resources. My advisor, Patrick, helped me dive deep into numbers and sales, building a roadmap that lit up my personal brand business. This was also the first time I embraced using Excel spreadsheets seriously. For a creative person like me, this was a massive shift, but it brought much-needed structure to my business.

Executive Mindset Coaches: My journey with executive mindset coaching began with Steph River. Steph is a leadership coach trained in the same program as I was—Accomplishment Coaching. She also trained with Brené Brown in the Dare to Lead program. Working with Steph was transformative because she helped me craft a future vision and develop an executive mindset that propelled my leadership skills. Her guidance in creating a clear vision and executing it with confidence was invaluable.

Another memorable experience was attending an intensive weekend program with Rich Litvin, author of “The Prosperous Coach.” This retreat was not a typical one; it was designed to push participants out of their comfort zones. We engaged in activities that emphasized vulnerability and self-awareness. One exercise involved staring into a partner’s eyes without speaking, which created a profound connection and self-awareness. This experience reinforced the importance of vulnerability and authenticity in leadership.

Spiritual Coaches: Spiritual coaching has also played a significant role in my life. One of my early experiences was participating in a group program at my church in the early 2000s called “The Four T’s of Prosperity” by Stretton Smith. This program focused on time, talent, treasure, and tithing, teaching me to live an abundant life free from fear and insecurity. It was a transformative experience that helped me see prosperity in a holistic way.

More recently, I worked with Lisa Almquist, a personal consciousness guide and clairvoyant. I met Lisa at a coaching conference and felt an immediate connection. Her guidance has been invaluable, especially in navigating spiritual growth and energy healing. Lisa’s ability to channel intuitive insights and provide spiritual support has helped me maintain a balanced and grounded approach to life and business.

Finding the Right Fit

Now that you know my journey all ALL the types of coaches and consultants I’ve hired over the last decade,  here are some tips to help you choose the right coach or consultant for you:

  1. Identify Your Goals: What do you want to create? Are you looking to develop your leadership skills, grow your business, or seek spiritual guidance? Knowing your goals will help you choose the right type of support.
  2. Research and Recommendations: Look for professionals with experience and positive testimonials. Just look above! Ask for recommendations from your trusted people and read reviews..I always read reviews and sometimes ask to speak with previous clients.
  3. Interview Multiple Coaches or Consultants: Don’t settle for the first person you find. Interview a few candidates to see who resonates with you. Ask about their approach, experience, and how they have helped others with similar goals. I will often refer potential clients to other coaches before making a decision to work with me, I want it to be the right fit.
  4. Trust Your Intuition: Pay attention to how you feel during your interactions with potential coaches or consultants. Trust your gut feeling about whether they are the right fit for you.
  5. Evaluate the Investment: Consider the cost and time commitment. I’m a big believer that time, money and energy all go hand-in-hand. While investing in professional support can be significant, it’s essential to view it as an investment in your future self.

When I was searching for my first business consultant, I relied on recommendations and my intuition. Hiring Sean Lowe was a significant financial commitment, but I trusted the process and saw incredible results. Similarly, when I met Lisa Almquist, I trusted the immediate connection I felt and have benefited immensely from her guidance.

Embrace a Holistic Approach

Integrating various types of support can provide a comprehensive and well-rounded approach to personal and professional growth.

Each type of support—executive mindset coaching, business consulting, and spiritual coaching—addresses different aspects of your life, and together, they create a powerful synergy.

For instance, working with an executive mindset coach helped me develop the mental strategies needed for leadership. At the same time, business consultants like Sean Lowe and Cultivate Advisors provided practical tools and strategies to grow my business. Meanwhile, spiritual coaches like Lisa Almquist helped me stay grounded and connected to my inner self.

This holistic approach ensures that you are not just focusing on one aspect of your life but addressing your overall well-being and growth. It’s about creating balance and harmony between your personal, professional, and spiritual selves.

For example, during a particularly challenging time in my business, I found that balancing the structured guidance of business consultants with the spiritual support from Lisa kept me motivated and centered. This combination allowed me to navigate obstacles with a clear mind and a strong sense of purpose.

Invest in Yourself

Investing in professional support is one of the best decisions you can make for your personal and professional development. It’s not just about spending money; it’s about dedicating time and resources to your growth.

I know that my most life-altering breakthroughs come from stepping out of my comfort zone and investing in myself. Whether it was the financial commitment to hire Sean Lowe or the time spent in intensive programs with Rich Litvin, these investments have paid off in ways that go beyond monetary value. They have provided clarity, confidence, and a clear vision for my future.

If you’re unsure where to start, identify what areas of your life or business need the most attention. Consider hiring an executive mindset coach if you need help with leadership and mental strategies. Look for a business consultant if you need practical advice and tools to grow your business. Seek a spiritual coach if you need guidance on your inner journey and spiritual well-being.

Remember, you are worth the investment. Trust yourself and take that leap of faith. Surround yourself with the right support, and watch how it transforms your life.

Finding the right executive mindset coach, business consultant, or spiritual coach can significantly impact your personal and professional growth.

By understanding the different roles, learning from real-life success stories, finding the right fit, embracing a holistic approach, and investing in yourself, you can unlock your full potential and achieve your dreams.

My journey has been transformative, and I hope my experiences inspire you to seek the support you need. Whether it’s developing a powerful mindset, growing your business, or finding inner peace, the right coach or consultant can guide you every step of the way.

Friend, take the time to explore your options, trust your intuition, and invest in your future. You are worth it.
