It’s been a long and windy road for Robin Newberry while finding her clear vision, but it was the breadcrumbs along the way that got her to where she is today. From consulting, to tech, to starting up 1154 Lill Street in Chicago with a friend back in 1999, these experiences and positions prepped her for her current business venture, ShinePages.

The process of creating a website is bigger than people think. So let’s take a look at the creative process…
If you wanted to create an online branded space, let’s say a website, membership page, etc, Robin recommends being sure of a few things before you dive in.
- Know the problem you’re solving for people before you get your website up and running.
- Get clarity on your niche and ideal audience. I’m not saying you have to have EVERYTHING figured out, but definitely have some sort of direction rather than going into it blind.
- Nobody’s going to find you without a call to action and an upfront business plan: You need to get people through your online doors and increase conversions.
However, there are most definitely people that go into it knowing they are going to learn along the way – and that is A-OK. There’s a balance of needing clarity, a clear direction, CTA, clear offers, and simplicity.
You also need to note that a website is never done. it’s okay to shift and grow and change your website as you and your business evolve as well.
A website is a living document, unlike a printed piece like a book. It ebbs and flows.

They’ve created them to be very plug-and-play and conversion-focused. Some sites almost have TOO much flexibility and others have TOO much structure. She provides a good balance of both.
